Hey guys,
Been doing the new mountain sled thing for a while, but really miss the old Iron. Especially since I live in Waconia and see the vintage show every year. Just picked up a dirty 93 SX exciter and want to fix it up. It has 5600 miles and the numbers match. Any advise would be great. I’m more familiar with the triples, and had a 83 SRV, and 79 Exciter at one point, but have always been enfatuated with the SX. What is my best resource for parts? Thanks in advance for any help!

Another question, for plastic skis, what is needed to use stock Yamaha skis to replace the old ones? Lots of cheap skis on Craigslist. Thanks

well the sr viper and sidewinder go on that sled with minor grinding and a couple of thick washers added to a longer bolt. have them on my 1997 et410 off of a 2014 sr viper.

You can also use skis from an sx viper, same as RX-1, just have to cut a little out of the bottom of the saddle.

If you find some skis that you like, use you imagination to get them to work. Mine took some head scratching!!

Plastic skis are a big improvement over the old steel skis on those TSS sleds.

If you find something, put pictures up of the attachment/mount dilemma that .....you WILL have. Many idears can spark the exact one that is needed. We'll help you 'spitball' the problem.
