What'll be the affect on fuel mileage/consumption if I switched from 45s to 50s for pilot jets?

Slightly less depending on how heavy you are on the throttle. Bigger jets mean more gas which means less MPG.
You will see a difference as you must remember the pilot circuit is ALWAYS providing fuel to the motor no matter what the throttle position is!
