My buddy has an 02 viper and it keeps blowing belts, thought the problem was in the jack shaft we changed the bearing and the carriers and it is still doing it. This happens at high speeds, This viper has triple pipes on it, its clutched and has reeds does it need a torque arm? We will have to dig into it I do not believe it has any broken motor mounts but will have to do more digging. Any thoughts?

Defo need torque limiter with triples, https://www.partzilla.com/catalog/yamaha/snowmobile/2000/srx700-ohlins-srx700sd/engine-bracket 15-23 unless or everything but bolts then source them at hardware store. I also recently saw a thread on motor mount failure and one on mount actually pulled up from chassis

you need the engine brace on piped viper, also the pto motor mount is best replaced with one from a srx, has a extra bolt to hold it. if you still blow belts at high speeds, its likely because your chaincase gearing, a belt into overdrive has excessive belt speed and will blow for long periods of high speed, the fix is usually to simply gear up a tooth to slow the belt speed down.

Thanks guys I will pass this information on to him and we will look for broken motor mounts!
