2003 Viper SX700. Front shock leaking. Dealer said can't be rebuilt. New ones $700 each from Yamaha!. What are my alternatives? Love this sled

Uh, they are rebuildable.
All the aluminum bodied keyboard shocks are.
Usually around $50 a shock to rebuild and charge each one.

The dealer wants you to give him $700 for a shock. Here is my my rebuild guy. Have him rebuild, revalve & possible respring that shock to your weight. My 22 year old sled now rides like a Cadillac. My re-spring was partly because I am @ 300# w/ riding gear.

They only do Yamaha.

cannondale/shockdoc also does them. if it wasn't for the border i would use him for all my shocks.

You can easily get both of them rebuilt & revalved for 1/2 of that $700.
I think his price is $30 each.

Couple of bucks is right schmidt bros will do a great job, they have pricing online and Chris is a good dude to do business with
But is not an advertiser on the site. Without VIPS and advertisers this site would not exist.. and with the lack of both it could be on its way out guys.
