Just got a 98 mountain srx 700 with 2,700 miles all stock anything different from regular srx 700 other than the 136 track like hp rating and gearing?
Basically the same sled with gearing and clutching differences beyond the obvious skid length.

I just picked up an MSRX. Looks like it has 8 tooth drivers. Is that stock from Yamaha? My other SRXs have 9. Running board heat exchangers are 8" longer, too. Has anyone come to a consensus on how many of these Yamaha made? Inter'web says it's not published.
8t are stock to clear the 136 x 1.5 track. Ski stance is narrower than the 121's. My kid probably knows the build numbers, I will ask him. We have 2 and missed out buying a couple more

Thanks! Mine's an 8DP-00####...I do believe that should be true about the 8t driver, it's just that looking through Yamaha parts fiche, the drivers aren't a unique number, neither is the speedometer (8 tooth would throw the mph off compared to 9) and other discussion threads out here mention putting up to 1.5" lug tracks under 121 machines with 9t drivers (which surprised me, I've never tried that). I'll do some speedometer comparisons between this and my 98 SRX700S to see what's up. Either way, I'm happy, it's a 28 year old sled and it runs and rides great so far.8t are stock to clear the 136 x 1.5 track. Ski stance is narrower than the 121's.
