Looking for recommendation on what brand kit I should purchase for a top end rebuild on a 1999 Vmax 500?. I did see this kit

Looks like a nice complete kit!
I found a teflon coated piston kit for a 600 twin, look into that also, before you buy. I'm sure they have that for a 500 too.

Thanks I just order the Teflon coated ones. Can anyone tell me what the torque specs are for the jugs and the head?

My new Race driven pistons and gasket set arrived today. One thing I noticed that the rings have no markings on either side of them. Are they flat rings and can be used in either the upper or lower grove and what side of the rings face up? Any help would be great.
Did you find out which way to intall the rings?
There was no marking but was told that if the ring would not compress all the way then it was in wrong. I installed the rings and the jugs slid right on and the sled runs so I am not 100% sure they are in correct or not.

That advice doesn't make sense.
That said, happy she's up and running bud!

When I called Race Driven they told me if the rings were put on upside down you would not be able to compress them to get the cylinders on.
When for a ride yesterday and put on 97 miles, sled ran great
