99 Venture 600 - need re-gearing details....

Within a different thread, norwegian replied with:

You could begin with the gearing, the gearing on mine is 18/38, which is way too low. Gear it to like 20/38 or 21/38 at least, that should get the rpms down some. I haven't re-gearered yet......

For my 99 Venture 600 triple 2-Up, what re-gearing details are involved?

re:
- If I a change factory smaller gear factory 20 to 21 or 22, do I need longer chain as well?
- If I change upper gear, do I need to change its factory reverse gears as well?

Within Canada/USA, where can I buy upper gears?
