I have a 2000 Vmax 500 that blew the crankshaft bearing's.
Sled isn't in the best shape and I'm not looking to spend the money on a rebuild.
I found a good running motor from a 96 Vmax 600 for $200. The motor includes carbs and exhaust.
I'm looking to see if anyone knows if they would be compatible. It looks like you'd have to change the motor mounts, stator, and exhaust. Any thoughts on if it can be done or any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

you would need the complete harness, airbox, carbs everything...
Would the 2000 exhaust bolt up..thats my only concern as far as fitment..it comes with everything else
I am not sure.
There are differences from 96 to 97, I don't think it will work.

Motors in 1997 used different mount points for the new chassis(If i recall)
