need help making the decision for a Expert X or M10 on 00 SRX

on that expert x. trust me you can really throw a beating at this thing with absolutely no fears. (it is unbelievable) i have also seen the m-10 break. saw a guy on a trail cruise 2 years back.

You can't really make an accurate decision based on that information. For instance, was the m-10 properly set for rider weight, This is very important! were the shocks in need of a rebuild, ect. If your shocks are worn out, any suspension will break! What kind of shocks are they using on the x-pert now? The one I rode had some non rebuildable kayaba's (junk).

vipertripplexxx- i am just saying what i saw. what i saw was a 60 year old man on a cruising sled with a broken m-10. you are correct i don't know the maitenence record of the vehicle. i don't know the conditions of the shocks. and i dont know if it was set up for his weight. what i do know is this thing was busted and driven by a 60 year old man and it was installed in a cruising style of sled. as i said before this was more than enough info for me. everyone else can make what ever decision they choose.
I also wanted to ask a question. if i let my 240 lb friend ride my sled and my m-10 is set up for a 200 lb rider am i risking breakage as well?
If this is the case then i made the right choice with the expert-x .
if i dont set it for rider weight they just end up with a crappy ride
 
I think that you are going to find people on both sides of the fence. Each suspension has their own pluses and minuses. And overall as long as your not looking for the slot car feel their probably both better than the proaction.

I can speak for the Expert its the second best thing I've spent money on short of the pipes. I got exactly what I was expecting with it: massive weight transfer, big bump capability, and no top end loss.

I also lost exactly what I expected: the slot car feel, and the lack of ski lift. The stock SX is the best smooth trail sled setup.

You don't have to lose the slot car handling. I lowered the ride hieght and it greatly reduced ski lift, cornered great and still took the bumps.
 
Just letting you know that from my experience, m-10's don't break, at least I haven't heard alot about it. heard all kinds of horror stories about the x-tra 10's. Maybe the guys kid rode the thing the week before, and he weighs alot more, and pounded the chit out of it? Who knows? If they were unreliable you would hear about it. If a sixty year old guy has a broken m-10 suspension, thats telling you something was wrong! All I know is I have one and I can honestly say that it is dam tough! 2000 miles this year, and I haven't been passed on any trail yet, actually only a couple of times at stop signs the other guy blew through. Then I just had to go by them again to get'm really worked up. Passed hundreds of sleds, including firecats, and lots of revs. Take it from a guy who honestly rides hard, they are tough! It's good to hear that x-pert is now using rebuildable shocks, thats what really turned me off when they first came out. I thought they changed to rebuildables, just wasn't positive. I thought the m-10 cornered alot better, maintaining steering while powering through corners. xpert was awsome staight line acceleration.M2C
