I know alot of you haven't ridden the 06's but i figured some on this board have.. Does anyone have an opinion on the 06 nytro? i am currently looking hard at this sled but would love to hear any and all opinions.

current sled = viper

nytro

I want to know the same thing. Right now my 01 srx is my trail/ditchbanger sled and the nytro would be the replacement. Would i be disappointed in the power of the nytro comming off a 01 srx?

I rode an '05 RS Vector this past weekend, and I currently own an '01 Polaris 600 XC EDGE X, so I think I can give a pretty good comparison of how well the Nytro will perform.
For pure acceleration and torque, you cant even compare the 973 triple to a 600 2-stroke. The 973 4-stroke triple is so much better in all aspects. The pure torque and the width of the powerband is something that you must experience to believe. I was totally blown away! ;)!
The suspension is so much better, both in terms of handling and ride to anything I have ever ridden. Its better than my EDGE, so I know it will be A LOT better than an SRX or a Viper. In fact, I think that the ProActive CK of the Vector/Nytro soaks up the bumps even better than the Fusion that I rode! ;)!
I think that if you ride at moderate speeds and like the Vector but want something that is a little bit more aggressive, you will be happy with the Nytro. I think that with the new riding postion, you will be able to transition from sitting to standing much easier and I think that with the new shock packages that Yamaha is offering these sleds will be able to attack the ditches and big bumps much better than the Yamahas of the past. The Nytro is the sled that the SX Viper SHOULD have been!
While on the Vector, I felt much more confident and in control that I do on my XC. Now granted, I didnt get the ride the Vector all day long but we rode on some very bumpy trails, and the suspension was hands down the best that I have EVER ridden! :yam:

Awesome ditchbanger, but would not want for the trails for a long distance. Check some of the other posts, I spent a lot of time on this one, and got some good air on this one.

Nytro hyfax

I just bought a Nytro.. less than 700 miles and have to replace the hyfax....great sled to ride lots of fun.. I think if your going to ride in marginal snow you may consider adding extra wheels. Anyone else with this problem would like to hear from you.

When seated on a Vector, it has a very similiar feel to a Viper, not high in the seat like the Apex or Attak. The Nytro is a little higher than the Vector and a little more forward, but very comfortable. I have ridden Apex, Attak, Vector and Nytro, and if you love your Viper, the Vector and the Nytro are very similiar in handling to the Viper. The Attak and Apex are different (very smooth suspensions) handling suspensions and it takes a while to get used to the way they handle. The gearing in the Nytro is higher, so I'm not sure about long distance or trail riding.
