Hi
This is the start of the scan thread. If anyone has the 2001 spring issue of american snowmobiler, let me know.
I start this thead with the 600 cc class in 1997, compared to Maxximum performance's sx 600. The article states that conditions were poor, and only got worse, and the Maxx perf sx is tested after the stock classes. Just look how little it took to be faster than the stock 600 sleds. They don't mentiton anything about the gearing on the maxx perf sled, so I assume it is stock, which is too high for this kind of competition.

Don't hesitate if you have any requests, I have most shoot out results, except the 2001 and possibly 2002.
Cool stuff
In race trim, we would dyno 114 with this engine at Iantomassi track n'trail.
What's race trim?
Advance timing 4 degrees.
Remove air box and install K&N air filters.
Yamaha .6mm head gasket.
137.5 main jets(only suitable for short bursts).

This sx had only a thin headgasket, clutch work and probably gearing. 114 is pretty sick. But this maxx sled was in trail trim.
