Does the rubber in engine mounts become too flexible over time. We have a 97 vmax700sx, mounts are all intact and bolted tight but the engine can move quite a bit when pulling the primary up and down. Primary sheave can go up and down about 1/2", Or is this movement normal. It's blowing belts. Are spi aftermarket mounts ok, they are approx 20 bucks each vs 200 each for yamaha. Thanks
they do go soft/separate over time. i used spi ones on my et when i re did its engine mounts.
Mine are all very flexible, as you describe.

We ended up replacing the 2 front ones and it took away a lot of the flexing. Back 2 are a big job, looks like track has to come out to get at the nuts so we left them alone.
