Got several old Phazers, Ventures with 488 engines, oil injection pump drive is behind the primary clutch and I have pulled the clutch with intent of adding grease to that drive cavity, got some "marine grade grease", but have noticed there is a large phillips head screw on the upper edge of the drive case and am wondering if that is where grease could be added with either a grease gun or some kind of squeeze bottle. Haven't been able to source any info on how much and what kind of grease should be added?

I have a Phazer 480 as well. Yes the phillips screw covers a hole where you can add grease for the oil pump gears. I use a low temperature, water resistant grease with lithium additives that has a temperature range from -30°C to +120°C. I would recommend to put in about 1dl or maybe a little more to the oil pump gears. A thick and tacky grease is good here.

According to a Phazer 480 manual it is recommended to use "Aeroshell Grease 7" or "Esso Beacon 325".
