MM700. Previous owner added these little copper tubing contraptions that were fed from the carb drain bowl and stuck into the carb mouth. What are they? I don’t like plumbing to the bowl drain, as the nipple is smooth and tapered. Am I good to delete them?
Power jets is what they are called. Some sleds about 40-50 years ago came with this setup stock. This is aftermarket.
I'm not sure I understood what they were to accomplish over a stock setup.
I would delete them but you need to check your main jets.
Often with this setup, the main jets would be many sizes smaller with the power jet making up the difference.

Yep, the mains were super small. Unfortunately the bowl drain screws had been ground down to allow fuel flow to these contraptions. Now I need to find new drain screws to make the whole thing more safe.
