we've been hearing "honda snowmobile" for as long or longer than we've been hearing "redline comeback"
that said... I hope they do enter the industry, 'cause that'd stir up old blue something fierce. but given how snow conditions and sales are these days, I would say that there's only room for 3 manufacturers, if they want to keep the same numbers that they have run in the past.
One thing about the old yammy's is that there are not too many in the junk yards....hmmmmmmmm ...I wonder why?

when it comes down to it Yamaha and Bombardier have WAY deeper pockets than Arctic cat and Polaris. All these "bad" winters in a row are taking a toll on sled sales and Polaris and AC are feeling it the most. Even Die hard Arctic cat guys don't have to buy a new sled every year when there isn't much snow to ride on
They are all large companies, but yes Cat is the small one.
BRP sales for 04 were 2 billon and Polaris was 1.8 - Iam not sure I would say WAY bigger.
Skidoo is the only one stepping up to the plate is the bottom line. I believe I learned to ride a sled by riding and not because I was handed HP. I would like to see all of them copy doo - well maybe not the look but the concept

BRP is a much bigger company than Polaris.
Polaris pretty much only has sleds, ATVs and Victory motorcycles. BRP has Ski-Doo, Sea-Doo, Bombardier ATVs and Johnson/Evinrude outboard boat motors. BRP also owns Rotax, which supplies engines to BMW motorcycles and I think (dont quote me on this) that they supply engines to Husqvarna for their MX bikes.
Seems to me that BRP is quite a bit bigger than Poo is. Yamaha is now much bigger than all of them though....

A friend of mine busted my nuts good - he put a sticker on his windshield -
YAMAHA - WE MAKE PIANOS
I had to laugh - even if it ws at me - I asked him if it was music to his ears as I passed him on the inside of the corner...
Poo gets a lot of business from the quad market, and doo doesnt. Yamaha of course has the quad market as well as motocross.
The summer toys carry more weight at poo and Y.
What were Yamahas total motorsport sales for 04?
