The 74 TL433F was built with double slider and single centre cog drive ,AND no factory window
holes cut into track for the slides.
Only worked in snow . Recall sliding down a icy road from 60mph when the poly stuck
to the steel insert clips. Kicked snow into the track and it cooled off.
Dealer did an update which added some wheels but there wasn't any room in the front
third of the rails so still needed to watch there for wear. Eventually the clips wore out
in the track and rubber to nylon didn't work well. Cut out windows and installed Doo clips
only a few years later have the bars start breaking in the centre drive. Never did split apart
as the tunnel kept it trapped at the front.
End result . welded Doo Citation flanges to the front axle spaced for the citation cogs and
track and a suspension from a wrecker from a 75 GPX . Did this out in the lawn so wasn't
a great install but kept it alive.
As I gathered up my assorted fluid drive sleds (about 40) discovered the 1975 TL433G
and any other 1975 GP would have just plugged into the chain case journal and would
have given me the correct place drill the holes in chassis. Also the complete engine
and chain case along with a support on steering support for shifter will fit into
the 1974 1975 GP frames.
Doesn't make it a correct sled but you can ride it again .
.
Electric start ... Looks like all the 1973, 1974 1975 1976 1977 433/440 used the
same flywheel, fan shroud, fan and starter. GP, EW, SL,TW. ..
The wide track 433's usually came standard and the others maybe optional.
The battery box / tool box had knockouts and frame had weldments for the bolts.
...
If you find a donor sled check the year and part book before buying.
..
Started to just message Mills but realized someone might have a 74 with same
track issues sitting OR have a donor in WI for Mills.
