I have a 99 Phazer 500. The gauge cluster lights and head light are acting up when the engine is warm. They will go dim for a bit then come back to full brightness. They cycle like this when the engine is warm, back and forth.
Any ideas what it could be? Stator, ground, rectifier?

For fun , try putting brake . Way back when , got dim headlights etc
on an old sled and by putting the brake on it used that 1/2 of the bulb
as a return and ground.. Mine was a bad bulb socket and cured at the time
by putting a small screw along the socket to create a better connection.
Just start adding grounds with alligator test wires one at a time to each area
or circuit until you feel you have grounded everything twice.
My old sleds had rectifiers between tank and seat and mice nested there
and p on them until they rotted off .
