So I was having issues with my srx. When trying to pull start it felt like the recoil was catching. I ended up trying a different recoil but still no luck. So I decided to tear down engine and check there. The outer crank bearings spin freely but these 2 bearings turn but not as freely as the rest of them. What do you guys think? It won't let me upload photo but it's the two bearings between the bronze gear or whatever thats called.

They should spin freely...take the crankshaft to a shop and get it rebuilt or find a good used one. Viper crankshaft, although being a pork chop design, also works fine in the 2000 and up SRX engines without any mods.
