Hi! I own a Yamaha RS 2015 viper that i newly lend out to my friend. When he came back he said it started burning and that he had extinguished it pretty quickly. When I saw at the damage I first saw some melted plastic and a green tube sticking out. I asked chat GPT and it said it was some kind of pressure valve. The problem now is, the brake is non existent and has no grip when I press it in, there is also a lot of brake pad residue on the brakes themselves. When I touched the brake 10 minutes after he arrived it was pretty hot not gonna lie. Is this a case of somebody forgetting to let go of the handbrake? And what can the damages be?

welcome.
that sled is a sr viper witch is covered on the 4 stroke site www.ty4stroke.com
this site covers for the sx viper and older 2 stroke yamaha sleds.
looks like park brake was forgotten on and he cooked the pads and rotor for sure. caliper might be saveable but you will not be able to tell until you bleed the brakes with fresh fluid.
