I have 3 of these various years, one is estart and running, the second I don't have any spark and have been trying to assess why that is. All three coils appear to have similar Ohms readings, and I have tested spark plug caps looking for the 5 Ohm, most are OK. So I assuming that leaves me with stator and CDI. I have pulled the motor and looked all over then engine compartement for the CDI which parts diagrams show in a rubber sleeve or pocket, I can not find one. I am at the verge of pulling the fan, flywheel to see if it lies inside there. The third sled is only a parts sled but it did run well enough to drive up on the trailer. I'd appreciate any help.
odds are (if my memory serves) the cdi is mounted near the oil tank on the tunnel. might need to pull air box to get at it. from all my looking at the parts fiche over the years, they are all pretty much in the same place.
