SRX belt slipping..

I have a 00' SRX that when i take off I smell belt. And the sheaves have a little bit of black on them. I am stumped because the thing rips and is clutched almost perfect. I am running HH with a base weight of 51.8 grams with 1.7 in the mid and 5.0 in the tip ,14.5 rollers with a Maxx purple spring. Secondary has a Hauck roller and a 52/42 helix with green spring at 70 degrees. It is stock other wise. This thing pulls like a freight train but there is some belt slip for some reason. I have tried to add some weight to the heal without sucess, still smell belt and it pulls the rpm's down. Maybe I should try some more weight in the mid and less in the tip and see if that helps. Don't know! This set up worked well last year with less weight in the tip. Which I weigh less this year so I had a over rev and I put the stock can back on which we know makes more power than any aftermarket. The sled only has 2500 miles on it.
 
It is not because the clutches are dirty. Just cleaned them this morning and put a different belt on. Alignment is spot on also. Like I said rpms are perfect should'nt be any belt slip.
 
I use a scuff pad and then castrol super clean which is a water base cleaner. It has always worked well for me as I do the same on my other two sleds.
 
Then why am I smelling belt when I take off. So you are saying that the driven is shifting out to fast and making the primary slip. I have no bog but I suppose that is possible. What is the rate of the silver blue?
 
Try the 8CH belt, 8DN is way to hard and prone to slipping. A stiffer spring will make it worse. The 8CH they offer now, will last and is a soft compound. I've used it on my SXR Triple Triple, and 01 SRX. Tink.
 
sj there is no ring, but I can smell belt. It is ever so slight as it is not really hurting it's performance. Engagement is a 4600. It is just not squeezing the belt hard enough which it should with 14.5 rollers and that much weight.
Tink I may have to try a softer belt as the 8dn will ruin the clutch sheeves if it slips. I suppose the bushings could be worn causing the primary to bind, but they should'nt be with only 2400 miles.
 
if everything else is straight...like center to center ....than this shouldnt be happening down low....unless like you said you're binding....I just took mine apart and removed a ton of belt dust which I think was binding mine up...but if she's clean and straight..I'd try the softer belt...I still cant figure where you think youre slipping.....down low....or up high?????
 
My 01 SRX had lost top end. Everthing was working good with just a little top end loss. It finaly wouldn't shift up and the belt slipped bad like a ratcheting track. I noticed that on the sliding sheave of the primary clutch the bushing had slipped out of the sheave towards the motor. I beat the sheave with a plastic hammer and pushed the bushing back in. That worked but still wasn't running full speed. I had the dealer press in a new bushing and it really did the trick. The sled has 1900 miles on it since i bought it new. It now is exactly identicle in speed to my friends Warrior, its amazing how close these 2 sleds are in speed now that i fixed that bushing.
 
sj I smell belt when I first take off when the primary first engages. Also there is a small amount of black on the sheaves almost to the top which makes me believe it is just not squeezing the belt enough. Which it should with that much weight. I am starting to think that the bushings are worn enough so it is not shifting quite right, hanging up alittle. Maybe I can figure it out this weekend. Thanks for everyones idears. More are welcome!
