Lucky me, I was able to spend the weekend with Backwoods Bill and the Bushman gang. I don't have any pictures myself, but there are some SWEET ones out there. So thanks again Bushy for the invite, and if ya talk to Bill, tell him he :rockon: ;)! I hope the new "TY'ers" will post up the carnage here.
 

I forgot to add, Flounder went fishing, and Reddog is the best tree killer I have ever seen. Mook, he can give you lessons if you want. Boo, where are you, lol.
 
i too want to thank backwoods bill, bushman, grape, and the whole "team boondocker" squad. had a great weekend with good friends. and thats what it is all about. till the next time.... holy f$%# gomez! randy see if jimmy wants to pick a date mid march for ontario, sounds like they are getting some good snow where we know. ski

Hey gang , Yes i also had a great time this weekend , man the drive home sucked !! But there is snow from top to bottom in michigan , Ya this RedDog is a hoot !! I rode with him for two days and let just say there is not alot of fear in this boy , we watched him garage sale his sled a couple times , I do have a pic of flounder trying to wash his viper in a creek bottom ,head first ...Got to give it to ski, man that viper is smokin hot , , Crazy top end pull ...was real close to 80mph ..then BYE BYE ski was gone, pulling out on a pack of 6-7 sleds , even the last time we ran them i thought i had him , nothing out next to me for at least 600 feet, then there goes ski ,like hes in fricken overdrive ....And for that guy GrapeApe , Bar none has the coolest sled i have ever seen , It goes up anything with no problem and sounds like a monster truck doing it , and grape makes it look like hes riding a 440 fan cool ,the way he throws it around . .Didnt get to see Bushman show everybody how to climb , GIT HER DONE and let me know when your going back , i got to do that one more time , I love watching jimmy ride the hills , he has his sled set up right for what he does ..Thanks Randy for letting me tag along , There are no trips that even compare to the few times i have rode with you and your crew , Bill and Kelly blow my mind , The true meaning of the phrase "what is mine ,is yours " Your friends and family are a huge part of the trips being so great ...was nice to put a face with a name with the wife and little squirt , Your a lucky man, but im sure you know that ....here are some pics ..a huge THANKS to the gang for a great last trip of the year ,

I think its time for a viper makeover she's quite bent up but the shocks work good. It was great to ride with everyone and meet some more cool riders,that boondocking is what its all about. If i piece the viper back together we can do it again soon i hope. But its time for a lightweight hood,tunel,windshield,seat,bumper,bumper suports and bolts, trailing arms,stearing arms, (all of them ) coolercovers,20 hours of time, 24 pack of BUD,a big thing of asprin and she'll be ready to go.

Here is that sled we told ya about reddog , BUT this one is not as cheap to fix everytime you garage sale your sled , just something to think about .....at least if you keep some of the parts stock that tend to break more like the hood and trailing arms you can replace them with cheap used stuff..
 
That sled looks cool it would suck to bang that one up. I think im going to trick my sled over the summer, not disided on if to do a motor mod now with having to replace all these other parts but with it being a lot lighter it should give the SLP and Bennder
guys a good run Id like to have that top end pull like ski's viper though that thing really fly's hope he dont let them SLP pipes go to his head though.LOL
 
Damn, I had fun! It is so cool to be able have a group of Yami guys get together & all get along..... Ridin the backcounrty w/Bill helps I am sure but for the longest time I was the lone ranger on the Yamaha. Thanks to all for making the trip up & being who you are!

Damn that Pro-X runs! - Pretty much every one who has ever raced it!

What the f%#^ is going on? - That would be me after my sled going down again this year...... while running the same jetting as last year? Thanks to Grape & Ski I have had some good rides on their moded backup sleds!

I am sure there is a lot more but once again I had a riot! Lets do it again!

Randy, I found this post pretty interesting. What happened to your sled ?
It's 2:45 right now and I am leaving work in a few minnutes, so I will call you tomorrow. I am coming up on Friday to the Houghton Lake and riding out of there, let me know where your going to be, I will ride up to The river to see ya. :rockon:
 
my tek vest came in today. waiting on the tail lamp now. no need to get rear ended. thanks to all for a great weekend. no, it may not be out west but if i remember right someone used to trail pound and offtrail ride the u.p and love it not too long ago. got to go when and where you can go. make the best of it. cant ever beat a good time with great friends. brb larry's pm'ing me about a clutch set up for his viper. LOL! ski
 
Ski...Thats very true. I still love offtrail in the UP and I may make it back up there again sometime, but not this year. ===SRXSRULE===

Jim where the heck Ya been? I think of you every time I pass through Trout Lake headed north, How the RX doing? I seen your post on the RX board about your buddy killing the turbo RX down state with the Viper. What Viper? Last I knew they had a Aaen piper & a Speedwerx piped Viper.

My #$%&* sled has been a handfull this year :o|
Same everything as last year that I beat the living chit out of & I seized the mag cylinder 4 weeks ago, Figured it was my fault & then saturday I made it 4 miles & lost the center cylinder this time @ 1/4 throttle totally my fault again. I worked in Gaylord last year & always ran 2-3 gallons of Torco fuel mixed in each can of fuel jetted on kill (no wonder why the friggen thing ran so strong). This season I no longer work in Gaylord & dont have easy access to the good fuel & have been running straight pump gas like a dumb a$$..... It just totally slipped what I have left for a mind. It's all good though, I dont spend as much time dicking with the sled anymore so I can spend it with the squirt & it will run real strong again, Real strong :rockon:

Cool, Heres a thought.... How about getting some pins to run the HotSeat weights the Jimmer is running in his sled? Real world on the snow a 600 should never smoke a 800 the way his does..... But after seeing it kill em all first hand for four years it it makes me wonder. Yes its a stock 600, I have been inside it with him 3 times fixing coolant leaks & cranks.

B2SO needs to understand that his 1.75" track should not run topend like your 1.25" lug track which is amazing...... But then again RedDogs 1.5" track 136" Viper ER running the stock weights should not run as well as it does! Both run more tip mass than heel mass with multi cut helix's.

Fun Chit either way you look @ it!

RULES if I had to trailride I would not ride! But riding out west would ruin it for me & that I know!
 
Bushman, your early post brought tears to my eyes. Now I see the words race gas last year, but not this year? I think B2SO was at least hoping to run down the 4-stroker with the 151x2 but oh well... Now all I have to do is just get enough to beat Ski up to 90 or so.
 
I may have to, lol. Ski's Viper is runnin like scalded stink right now. I am still a few hundred rpm's off still. Maybe that is all it needs, other than a lighter driver...
