Ok, so this is my story.....
The speedo hasn't worked on my SRX the last three times out. No big deal right. Well I was out this weekend with some other people that ride SRX's and the one guy told me that the same thing happened on his '99 SRX. The problem supposedly was that the pin which connects from the speedo into the drive shaft broke off. Well as a result of that, I guess the pin that broke off somehow worked it's way into my drive shaft bearing, thereby reulting in a damn 75 mile ride with a knocking/blown bearing to get back home. Not sure as of yet what the damages are, but I'm having a friend look at while I'm away this week while I'm going. Weird part was that the bearing only rattled when I was going about 20 and below. Well so I get about 2 miles from camp and the damn noise is no where to be found. So, we'll see how bad the damages are when everything is apart.
Lesson Learned: Don't let little issues go too long unless you plan on dealing with larger problems.
