ViperTrippleXXX and others on my burning viper

proof positive

Yep, This is proof positive yer a meathead. There is know way in hell I could tell ya where that motor is gonna run. You could make that motor produce power at any variety of rpm's. The biggest factor being the pipes!
Guess I pissed ya off, good. ;)!

Added Info

Oh yea,
You can shift the rpm tuning of a pipe by changing exhaust port timing. more port Timing= more rpm, less port Timing=less rpm. Since you were running pipes that were meant to have a shitload more port timming, They probablly ran good at alot lower rpm than 10,000 rpm. Rx-1's and apex's have a very flat torque curve, and max torque is probably around 8500, thats why. M2C.

viper triple xxx, here ya go

Viper XXX, nah, you didnt piss me off, just gonna make a point and use your common stupidness as the example of why people think they know whats gonna happen and they have no factual expeirance to back it up as in your case. You already inserted your foot in your piehole, posting for Jeff on his sale forum...lmao, I thought you talked to him already....lmao!!!!! Time for school clueless............

The engine I posted an example of is the exact cylinders as delivered from Hauck with his 10,200 rpm pipes, I said it was mine to make you think a little more, Anytime you raise the exh. port of a 2 stroke you raise the powerband of the engine.. RIGHT?? , so the 29mm exh port would have been all you really needed to see to know it was a high rpm engine,(or so youd think) along with the extra kicker of the raised transfer ports! Junior was at least able to pick up on this, and didnt come too far off of the REAL WORLD DYNO RESULTS!!!! not your so called common stupidness results.

This motor on the dyno made 158.9hp at 10,200rpm and the very low torq output of 90ft lbs, and the funny thing is that the torq. output was low all the way from the beginning to the end, starting off even lower at 60 and going up to 90. After jetting the sled down as the air/fuel ratio seemed goofy fat and lean, it bounced all over the place, still no significant gains could be had. So we sat back and thought about the factual information in front of us. In order to get more from the pipes, the stingers would need to be tightened up and the motor would need less transfer timing and maybe a lower exh port to work with these pipes.

So, we installed the Bender pipes, now these are DESIGNED to work at 9200rpm there viper xxx, so they cant work anywhere else right???...lol,

BAM.... the motor picks up to 167.3 hp and the torq. jumps to 99ft lbs, now we are getting somewhere, so with some jetting changes , a mod to make sure the carbs are not vibrating with the solid motor mounts being strapped down to the dyno table, we pull another run....wham 172.3hp and 104ft lbs of torq, but guess where it made the power.....................at 8700rpm, way,way lower then the 9200rpm, revving it up to 9200rpm only yielded 171 hp but the torq dropped to 99ft lbs. Wonder where we clutched this sled to run then.......lol!!! Put that in your pipe and smoke it triple xxx, these are REAL world results, not common stupidness you have, so until yamablu puts it on the dyno you dont know whats gonna happen, and with changing the entire timing curve, along with the powervalve opening curve, bigger carbs, port timing changes, compression increased, its not gonna be like the stock original is gonna be. All along I have said put it on the dyno, and you want to argue you know its not gonna work because the pipes are designed to run at 9100rpm, well youd most likely be wrong but again, so who's the meathead now?? have ya looked in the mirror lately..... :o| :Moon:

Viper xxx, ok , now that I have had fun with you I quit, just had to prove a point that once you change 100 things, the only way to know what a engine is gonna do is dyno it, and most of the time youll find out that the engine takes on a whole new attitude now so you cant go off of what the pipes say, the porting guy says, etc. Cheers- ;):D

One last thing, the rx1 and apex engines run the clutch speed at 8500rpm because thats where the clutch is most efficent, the higher you rev them the less effeicent they are, just a bit of info from the yamaha engineers. Peace

Time for school clueless

Never got the haulk pipes to work Eh?
In order to get more from the pipes, the stingers would need to be tightened up and the motor would need less transfer timing and maybe a lower exh port to work with these pipes.
Try raising the exh ports. port timing is way to consevative for 10,000.
but guess where it made the power.....................at 8700rpm, way,way lower then the 9200rpm, revving it up to 9200rpm only yielded 171 hp but the torq dropped to 99ft lbs.
To much compression, killed you up top. Drop the compression, and watch it rev.
fairly simple answers, Any more questions?
Junior, whats the estimated port timing for 10,000rpm?

transfers should be around 42.3 to keep it working right.

rod length is starting to play a pretty serios role here guys we're having to break into the hang time at the top of the cylinder

the expansion chamber will be playing alot bigger role here than anything I can account for to (without seeing the pipe layout)

I'd be interested in seeing all 3 sets of pipes side by side, just for comparison purposes, if I could get measurements I could likely help somemore.

the other problem is that by 10K rpm your ignition map is off the map to, we're starting to get into wacky readings, to far off of what this engine was designed for to make it work properly. I would imagine that crankcase heat would start to become an issue before long to.

not to mention, the water jacket is only 24mm deep, and you want SOME wall in there, so I think you can safely say that the highest you can lift your exhaust port is 25mm or so

WOW... what a thread.... incredible information from all...

to think that the only performance we strive for is to have a sled with enough traction and horsepower to pull all of our booze to our remote cabin in the bush...

would port timing help a little?

cheers

triplie xxx shoves foot in pie hole from not reading

viperxxx, maybe you need to school mr pat hauck on porting and pipes then huh?? it was his stuff on the dyno......man, cylinders, pipes, cdi box....call him up and tell him how to port the cylinders.. lmao....wish we all could know as little as you do.....you couldnt even clutch your own sled there genius boy...srxmagic had to give you the set up, because the boy wonder is a bafoon.....lmfao. :Moon:

I heard that in order to argue with someone, ya have to know what your talking about....guess ya ought to remain silent :Moo

Lastly there boy genius, the pipes produce no torq, thats why youd drop the height of the exh port and transfers, and then run it at a lower rpm, but you knew that right...lmfao........ya right

mrviper, you don't have a template to any of these pipes do you? or even a stocker for that matter

I don't have any real info to work with here, but I'd like to do alittle more complex calculations here.

viperxxx the dumbass responds

If his pipes didn't work for you on the dyno, maybe you should have called him yourself!!!!!!!
This motor on the dyno made 158.9hp at 10,200rpm and the very low torq output of 90ft lbs,
YOUR THE ONE SAYING HAUCK'S SETUP DOSEN'T WORK!!!!!!! Bet he would tell you something like, this ... You meathead why in the hell would you raise the transfers? this will totally kill the motor up high in the rpms. you need to get a wider spread between the intake and exhaust timing to allow the motor to blowdown properly @ 10,000rpm. Your not going to make any torque if you pipes run 1000 rpm higher than your porting, especially if they are peaky race pipes! Dirtbikes don't have belts, thats why I asked for help. Not to proud to ask for help when I need it. Keep diggin a Hole MEATSTICK. LOVE those pipe pics, sweet!

hey, you need a tissue for them tears?

I have dug no hole, you have simply been smoked, I will leave it at that, "anybody with common sense can see that"....lol, sounds like something youd say....lmao

Seriously, I have had alot of fun toying with you, just wanted you to understand that what you read in a magazine is not what happens in real world. I dont really think your a dumbass, I dont think anyone here is. You have actually had a few very informative post and I think you contribute to the forum, just wanted to drive my point into your head, your a very stubborn kind of person I can see. Have a nice day there Steve. ;):D
