I've noticed.. tons and tons of nice srx's, including my own (YES ITS NICE NOW!!) are for sale... all WAY WAY below book.. and what they are really worth. its SICK to see such awesome sleds go for such a low amount of money... it seems like the days of the SRX are dying down :(

*shameless plug* i have a 99 srx 700 for 2000$

I mean.. i've seen 01s that are hard to get 3grand for, its TOTALLY sick, whats causing this? the 4 strokes?

you will never get as much on this site, because everyone on here is looking for deals, basically "in the family." If you want to get decent money for it put it in the paper or some other classifieds, and you will most likely do much better. The guys on here have all been to the puppet shows and have seen the strings

put it on ebay with a reserve amount. if the reserve is not met it will not be sold.
worst thing that can happen is you actually see it is worth nothing from the bidding results. (sorry did not mean that to sound like an insult)
best thing that can happen is it sells for more than the reserve.
if it is in good shape and you are paitent it will sell and you will get a fair price for it.
like yamahaulic22 said. this place is full of guys looking for a bargain. i would not put too much credit into what people on this site tell you for resale value. (unless you know them well)
I just went through the same thing as you with my sled and listened to the naysayers on this site.
then i actually went out and took a good look at real world pricing and found this site to be $1000.00-$1500.00 low.
Check your local want-ad or you could even try kellys blue book WWW.KBB.COM
Good luck

I have been watching SRX's on e-bay on a regular bases for over a year. Brand new zero mile 02's still in the box strugle to bring 4500.00. the last few months 00-02's in various states of extras strugle to get to 3000.00. Stock 00-02 stop at about 2000.00-2500.00..BUT, every once and a while you see one go higher then normal. a month ago there was a 99 SRX 600 that went for over 3 grand????what the %$@#? As for trying to sell them locally....LOL, that dont work either. I placed an add in the paper and didnt get one call from it. So then I put in on the snap-on truck that 800 people a week go onto...Still NO calls. So drop the price till it sells or keep it. ===SRXSRULE===

I know that I found a great deal on my 99 SRX, and come next fall when I need to buy my wife a sled (she wants a red 02 SX Viper with electric start), I'll search to get a good price.

Snowmobiles are not investments. I guess that is the penalty you must pay if you want the latest and greatest technology.

I will probably never own a "new" sled, unless I have a new Dodge SRT-10 Quad Cab to pull it around with (so - I must have won the lottery :p ).

:yam:

Dodge makes some good power, now if they could only make a decent tranny to hold up to it

I know how you feel. I can't get anyone to even look at my Viper this time of year for $3500 mint. Here is a sled that has almost $9000 into it new with some goodies in 02. Yes, it is sick!!!! Snowmobiles are probably the worst investment with a motor...gotta love them though.

9000.00 isnt too bad, I had just under 14,000.00 in my Mt Max and sold it for 4500.00....but then again it did have 900 miles on it. LOL ===SRXSRULE===

Makes you want too puke......LOL.. I mean how can I not tell my Wife that I can afford this sport!!!!!?????LOL She thinks I am "Goddamn crazy for spending that kind of money".

Ask her....Would you rather see me spend 10,000 a year on sledding...Or 10,000 on crack, meth, hookers, gambling, drinking, ect.... ? Its a pretty harmless addiction and it keeps us sane!

srxxx86....look at my last post. I sold the Mt max for 4500.00 Far cry from the 6800 I started trying to sell it at 10 days ago! ===SRXSRULE===

jesus, that brings a tear to my eye man

i said the same thing to him, that sled was way too much, and way too nice to give away for 4500

LOL.......Its all good. It was fun building it and it climbed like a mother for a 700. Got alot of looks too. ===SRXSRULE===

true used sleds usually do pull in more money in the fall, but if you wait too long then you yourself will be paying more for the sled that you find to buy.
