Friend of mine is fixing a Viper and the center coil has intermitent spark, we're pretty much positive there is a problem with the center coil. The coil bolts came loose on it and we tried retightening them.
Any way to test it??
And what should the resitance be on the spark plug wire?

here ya go
just use a ohm meter and remove the sp. plug wire cap, that should show 5k Ohms, the coil should be thru the end of the sp. plug wire and to the wire 5.8-7.0k ohms, then check both wires(small).38-.46ohms.
You will want to remove the coil bracket and coils from the engine, take them from the bracket and make sure the little wires have not rubbed thru from being loose, and grounding out on the aluminum bracket. I have fixed this problem before.
