I put dual carbides on and.....

Last saturday I went to the dealer and put dual carbide runners on and it totally eliminated any and all darting.I can ride down any trail with on hand and ride fairly fast down narrow trails with out the fear of slamming into a tree.
The ONLY draw back is you don't have that sharp cornering feel like I did with single 6" carbides.Once I get my sled back with a fresh motor Im going to tighten up the limiter straps to try and bring back sharper corner feel.
Anyways the darting is gone for good.

I have heard of some people using 6 and a 4 inch per ski but unsure of which one was where.

Too late now, but Bergstrom Skegs makes some triple point carbides that work really well!

yes, kill the top end and you will NEVER get that sharp feel with the limiter straps. on my stock 03 viper I had the straps as low as they go and the transfer rods set to least transfer and still didnt help. but, with the difference in shimming the skis made, I am going to try them again this weekend the front of the dually has that odd little plate thing, the carbide doesnt seem to go as far forward, so without shimming you arent using the whole carbide. let you know how it goes either way

they aren't as aggressive because it is simply a lot more material to dig into the ground. (Like how your track floats on powder, but your foot sinks in farther) You can band-aid it but it will never be as aggressive as a single carbide runner

same pressure distributed over a lager area=less ponds/square inch . but great for a trail cruise, as NO darting. I just would rather dart and bite hard. but wii swap back for the hell of it, might as well just to compare

yea my sxr turned awesome with the C&A's, 8 inch woody's, lots of front preload, but the thing darted like a bandit. It was like riding a bull lol. It was easy to cure though, if i wanted to just sit back and ride i would just let the limiters out a little further to take some weight off of the skis. Would transfer better then too.
