prices on 06s in new england

$8964.00 from troy city garage in new york. i am in boston and it is 3-3.5 hrs from me. this price includes freight and setup. you don't get 800 in accessories with this price . oh ya did i mention there is no tax.
already have a deposit reciept in hand!!!

just wanted to ask. why do you need a good service dept to purchase a sled?
can't you bring it anywhere you want for service?
i bought a viper at a1 motorsports in nh and have had it at other places for the service bulletins/updates. what's the big problem????
 
just that if you buy and have it serviced at the same place you can get better service and more priority when you have an emergency. jsut what I like to do. they know my name, my sled, how I ride it and where, so they are better equipped to give great service fast.
 
How is A1's service and parts dept. See there adds but have not been there. Personally I prefer to support a shop that takes good care of it's customers. Always looking for a good shop. Pittsburg is 200 miles away but do ride there often.
 
I cant say enough GOOD about pittsburg. about 170 miles or so from me, but with a family house up there that we use as a cabin for riding, we leave the sleds there and having them service the sleds. they are great, we leave a key with them and they can go and pick them up, service them, and drop em back off. its sweet :)
 
forgot to mention in the last post that price is for an apex rtx with reverse.

03viperguy ya i follow that part of it but if they dont know or remember you, you become just another repair. i think most of us only deal with a dealer when we need something. it's not like the convenient store down the street that you go into every day for coffee. i think you are probably the one of the exceptions to the rule. good for you though, it is great to have that type of relationship.
I work in the service industry as a mechanic. I know first hand the value of good service. i also understand that everyone seems to think they are the most important person in the world. everyone i deal with seems to think they come before everyone else. my advise to everyone with service / repair issues is to get the service out of the dealers hands. buy a service manual. take notes on everything you do. if you adjust the suspension read about it first. make notes of the setup before you adjust things. adjust 1 and only 1 thing at a time and try out what you have done before adjusting something else. make notes of the setup after you adjust things. compare the differences. learn to do these things and you will have little to no use for your dealer or service dept. personally i feel the setup/maitenance/repair is one of the best parts of owning the sled.

my dealer has 5 or so people there, thats why they can all remember me. and I only get service done there and buy oil. they are just awesome and are right ON the trail, so I can even stop in on the way by and ask for the best trails :) just a great place to do business.
 
you are going to love the simmons. i put a set on my viper last year and plan to swap them to my new sled when i get it.

i bought the sled from them (a1) They were the only dealer in the area (called 5)
that were even willing to work with me on a price. they took 400 off and let me keep the accessories cash. i bought in december so i was happy. considering the phone calls i was having i was real happy with the deal.
I figured i would throw them a bone and let them do the service on the sled at the end of the season. I specifically told them to clean the power valves and check out everything else and give me a call if there was any problems. i specifically told them "not" to summerize it because i would need to drive it across my yard to put it into storage. when i picked it up they told me everything was fine with the sled. i asked them if they cleaned the power valves and they told me they looked at them and they were clean so they left them alone. then they handed me a bill for $110.00 I asked what they did for that money and was told that they summerized it.
I did not even bother to inform them of the fact that they are incompetent idiots.
I just paid my bill and have never set foot back in that store...

03viperguy i have a lot of mods to my sled and honestly dont know how the skis would work on a stock sled.
I installed a different track, studs, antiratchet drivers, clutch kit, 2" bar riser,
ad-bovine expert x rear suspension and the simmons skis.
I have never driven the sled in its stock setup with the simmons skis.
i can tell you that i did put the stock skis back on at the beginning of this season when the snow was low. i drove the sled for 5 miles and turned around to go back to the house to change the skis back over to the simmons.
For me the difference is night and day and like i stated before i will be removing them from my viper at the end of the season with the intention of installing them on the apex. I would recomend them to everyone!!
 
sweet, thanks! sounds like a sweet viper you have! but the apex is incredible! rode one and want one BAD!
 
I have not ridden one (apex) yet but i figure yamaha has never let me down so i have nothing to lose.
what did you think of the engine?? i am reading it is unbelivable!!
I am already looking at supercharger kits but i think i should probably get at least 1 ride in before i start screwing around with it.
 
I use SImmons skis and cannot say enough good things about them. Only draw backs are, the price of 4 skegs, the fronts carbides wear and the skis push in the corners when on loose snow. Hard pack can't be beat.
 
watersuper if you dont like what you are paying for carbides try a bergstrom skegs.
i dont know what kind of promotion they will run this summer/fall but last year i bought early and saved 25% off my cost. not to mention they are cheaper than woodies to begin with. I think i paid like 40 a set for 6"cutting carbides. don't quote me on that..
i have been running them all season and they seem to hold up well. no problems yet.
all i can tell you is they usually run an off season special with 25% discounts on all carbides and they are cheap cheap cheap. stock up!!
 
Thanks for the tip SM. I use his shim technique to put a little extra pressure on the back of the ski. I think I will try out his carbides when doing maintaimance this summer.
