Best clutching for 04 viper S? Looking for trail aggresive, but don't want to lose to much to the boys on the lakes.I ve seen some of the set-ups on this site but nothing for the 04s, didn't know if there was anything different! Thanks for any input!

actually if you wanted to try some of the setups on the tech pages, they are the same for all year vipers, because the engine/drivetrain combination never changed. So those setups will work for you. What is it doing now? Is it overrevving at all? I have had great luck with two VERY simple things. A helix around a 52/44 or 53/44 loads the engine very hard off the line and pulls like crazy, and retains the good top end. If overrevving, by a couple hundred rpm, you will probably also need a 4.5 gram rivet in the tip. You want to clutch it to run at 8400-8500.
I noticed that it was running around 88-8900 with a dayco belt, i put the yamaha belt back on this past weekend and it seem to be down around 8600. But the conditions were very warm and slushy , so i didn't know if that would have drug the r's down instead of the belt? Do you have a prefernce on witch helix ,or would it depend on what the sled is doing right now? Also I have noticed the green secondary spring mentioned several times? Thanks Again

studding it is the only way you will get this clutch set up to hook up, lol. It has a lot of bottom end and midrange grunt, while maintaining the top end. The helix doesn't really matter, those angles are very close. I would probably go with the shallower one

it is a yamaha spring, and if you get it you could probably run it at 60 degrees (3-3) or maybe 70 if necessary (6-1). You could make the red spring work if you didn't want to get a new spring, you would just have to run it at probably 80 degrees or so.
