Wondering about oil consumption on my SX 700, I rode 90 miles and the oil light came on. Does this seem like it using to much, also how and where is the adjustment for it.
Thanks Kevin

If you used that much oil, most likely the cable right above the carb rack has slipped out of the sleeve half. Also that is where the adjustment is done. I believe this is in the owners manual as well
I rode 180 miles and the tank was just above half full.. I'd say thats a little hi. Check the cable like grape said. I have heard when the pump goes it pours oil in, instead of no oil. i guess it better that way. Maxdlx

when the cable comes out of the sleeve you can't open the throttle all the way, because the oil pump maxes out a long way before you get it wide open.
i get between 150-180 miles on one quart of oil, 24mm on the adjustment...CP
i have a pump if you need one. the sx is common to eat a pump and they go to full rich. 70 shipped , it is off a 2002 600sxr
