Have many of you guys used this or know of someone who has and if it works at all or is it just another time bomb and is it worth putting on any feed back would be very helpfull

Thanks Brad

i had it on my sxr for 5,500 miles without any issues at all. Made fuel mileage quite a bit better, kept the mixture consistently perfect. Definately worth the money in my opinion. Now i'm going to take it off the sxr and put it on the srx, hopefully with just as good results!

6200 miles on my srx. Never a problem. Matched a 4 stroke mile for mile and gallon for gallon of fuel 450 miles last week. 35 miles on the grade WOT @ 34 degrees with no problem. Ran at 11 below the night before, same performance and no jetting changes. It works.

01 srx
Tempa-flo
clutched
big wheel kit
otherwise stock
never been touched mechanically other than regular maint.
13 mpg average
mostly lakes and rivers some trails
had the wife with so averaged maybe 45 mph?

The 4 stroke was a new vector 190 miles on it. I'm sure it will improve on fuel over time.

i have heard of a couple guys with srx's with tempaflows that could pull 18-19 mpg in perfect conditions. If that is anywhere near true, i can't wait to get mine on.

Best I ever saw was just over 15, But I have a problem with constantly squeezing the throttle. I would imagine if my wife rode it she would get much better economy. I just like the fact that I never run rich if the temps go up.

I have used one on my Viper for 6000 plus miles with no problems. In perfect conditions I have seen 18 mpg and the lowest was 11 while in the throttle.

But can you go and radar run 2000 feet BALLS OUT WOT and not have to worry about a lean mix

I thought that there was a problem that if you shut off the sled and it sat for a little while that it would lean out the mixture thinking it was warm outside (heatsoak) and when you took off and got into it too quick it would burn up? if it was that good with the MPG then I would go ahead, but heard bad things and got scared. is the attac better? or worse...

You are correct in saying that a lean condition is possible after you shut the motor off and sit. It takes a mile or so to read the airbox temp so just take it easy for a mile or so. When you stop the heat under the hood raises the air temp in the box. Tempa-flo compensates by leaning it out.

I had the attac on my srx and burned it up last year. I rebuilt it this year with wiseco pistons and had them ceramic coated with the pc-9 on the piston scirts and it burned up again after the second time I figured that it had to be the attac so I took it off and threw it in the garbage. The reason that I bought it in the first place is that my brother has it on his 97 SX 700 and it works great. I went for a 162 mile ride last week with the sled back at stock specs and it runs great. My sled gets around 15 to 16 mpg that is just a little under my dad's 03 RX1.

i got 12 mpg consistenly all weekend on my '01 srx for 700 miles so i can't wait to get that tempaflow on there, helped out a lot on the SX 7R

any more comments on the reliability of the tempa flow? trying to decide :) thanks boys, and holic should be used to my fear of mods by now ;) and no, I havent done the clutching yet, but I just havent gotten there lol!

right in the directions for the ATTAC and Tempaflow, it talks about changes in temperatures in the airbox and the possibility of extreme lean conditions. If you install it, you need to be aware that you need to allow the airbox temp to equalize with the outside air before you get on it hard - I just put the Variflow (manual adjustment) on my sons piped AC ZR600, and it works good - improved mileage from 8.5 to 13.5 mpg.

I've had it on my sled (2000 SX-R 700) for the last 3 years or so. Never had a problem with jetting since installing it. I've run in temps from -40 degrees F to +50 degrees F. After stopping to take a break, I just make sure I vary my throttle position quite a bit for that first mile. Basically, just make sure you aren't stopped on the lake talking to your buds and then start 'er up for a WOT run across the lake. That wouldn't be good. Other than that, I love the TempaFlow and would install it on any carbed sled I get.

You can put a bypass right in the tempa flow when installing, thus no need for the mile to cool the box. Maxdlx

Hey Maxdlx, how do you bypass it? Is this something I can do after the fact? Heck, I probably won't do it anyway cuz I've had absolutely no problems with it but if it's an easy mod....

Man, you guys are lucky, put one on my sled at the begining of last year, first ride out blew the motor, let my boss ride it and they tell u to take it easy for the first couple of miles so the cold air can set what jets you need or w.e, and he got right on it across island pond and after it had been sitting for 15 mins, on the way back, POOF!

max, do you have the instructions, or can you explain how to install the bypass. wouldnt you be running with a very rich mixture until you turn on the TF?

Thanks
