Super Tips Weights???

Magic, SRXspec has been the only person I have seen talk about the S/T weights. They look like you would be able to load them to fit your every need.

I Need More Than One Opinion.
Like When You Go See A Doctor, It's Nice To Get A Second Opinion.
Doctor Allen Must Have Some Patients Out There Some Where!!

I played with them. Got em working about the same as HH,s. Nothing special....my wallet is $200 lighter! HH,s are a lot easier & quicker to tune.

That's The Opinion That I Needed!! Thanks Turk!!
Anyone Else??

Bluebyyou2000 (RX-1 Turbo), Jtssrx (RX-1), Buster696 (RX-1 Turbo), Milljk (Vector), just a few who are running Supertips. Also yamadooman (RX-1) has our demo set currently as well. Easier to tune than the Heavy Hitters (you only have to remember either 1 gram or 7 grams instead of what all the different washers weigh like in the Heavy Hitter) and better low & top end results. But you already know my opinion. If you're around tomorrow I'll give your cell a call!

the super tips work well. They instanly out ran my Heavy hitters with allens setup. With a little tuning I was able to get my brothers RX-1 running HH to run with the Super tips but in every race I still instanly jump him. hte super tips seem to accerate quicker!!! So I pull out in front of him then we stay even from that point.

Jay, Were You Running More Or Less Weight In The Super Tip Than The Heavy Hitters??

Not sure I'd have to weigh the HH to see. I was running 60 gram ST's. I'm thinking I was in that same range with the Heavy hitters

You will generally run more weight in the Supertips then in the HH,s. I found I had to run 3-4 more grams on average with same secondary set up , same primary spring to achieve the same result. This is comparing 48 gram hh,s to 50 gram supertips.

Exact opposite findings here....I've always been 3-4 grams less on the Super Tips than the Heavy Hitters with everything else being the same.

Ooops..ya..What Al said. I just reread my clutching notes & I found that hh,s needed more mass the the goofytips!

So The Super Tips Have A Better Profile Or I Should Say A More Aggressive Profile.
Now How About This Guys??
How Do The 8bu-00 Compare To The Super Tips.

I have spent a lot of time this year with 8bu-00,s in my SRX & have found them to run the most consistent & with a low finish angle on the helix with lots of tip weight they still pull great top end. I have talked to a couple of local real good tuners & they allways go back to the 8bu,s. They just don,t have the snappy backshift but neither will HH,s or supertips when set up for drag racing. I dunno.....I just keep going back to 8bu,s & in my tuning parts I have heelclickers(3rd gen & pivoting arm) heavy hitters & supertips.

Turk - I went to see the 06s last night in Portland Maine. I was hoping I might get a look at the new factory weights that have 3 holes for rivets. Unfortunately - there weren't any to be seen without tearing apart a primary (no I didn't ask if I could). Who knows - maybe they will turn out to be a good "poor mans" Heavy hitters. The sleds are awesome!!! I've never been tempted by the RX1 - but after sitting on the RTX - well, next year could be the last season for my SRX. By the way - the 8DN20 setup continues to kick *** ! Thanks again.

Has anybody tried tapping a stock Yamaha weight so that they can use bolts and washers instead of rivets or are the stock weights to brittle??
