Guys, I will be unavailable for at least the next week due to the passing of a life long friend. He lost his life Thursday afternoon in a snowmobile accident by Mercer Wisconsin. I have been riding with him since I was a little kid and he was one of the most skilled riders I have ever known. 4 of my other close friends were with him when he lost control coming into a corner and became airborn and struck a tree in the mid section of his body. I got the news as I was loading up to go meet the group for the weekend. He lived 2 1/2 hours after the accident. He was med flighted to Marshfield Hospital where they operated on him removing his spleen and half of his pancreas. He aslo had a collapsed lung and torn small and large intestines. They sewed him back up and he was recovering when they noticed something not right in a scan. They had to go back in to see what was going on. It turns out his aorta had a small tear which lead to his stomach. The doctors did all they could but when they released the clamp to re start blood to his heart, his heart rejected it.
I have been riding for 35 years and never had to bury a friend but will be doing so on Tuesday. Please say a prayer for his family. His name is Dean Judd and is from Sauk City, WI.
I also plead to you all to go out and buy yourself a Tek-Vest and communicators. He was wearing a Tek-Vest, but was very small on him and did not cover his lower abdomen area.
The next time you are riding, please stay out of the bar and do not ride beyond your means. The terror that my core group of friends is living with has got to be horrible. Please everyone, RIDE SAFE!!!!!!!!
