Has anyone put a 16" wide Doo track on their Yamaha?

It looks like there is enough clearance, you only need 1/2 inch on each side, I wondered if can be done, seems like an easy way to increase the footprint considerably for powder.

Thing to check would be if the track clips are the same width and placement as a regular track. Better take some measurements.

The place where you'd have trouble would be up in the tunnel at the carrier wheels. Otherwise, it'd be a great swap.

I rode with a group the other day and one of the guys had a new Summit
800 with the 151" x 16" track. I asked him if the pitch and center distance
between the clips was the same and he said yes. He's a salesman at the
local Yamaha/Skidoo shop so he should know. I rode the sled and it did
really hook up, he told me he drag raced an '03 800 Summit with similar
horsepower and beat him because of a big holeshot.
I agree if there's room for the 16" wide track, I think it would be a great
swap.

16'' track on yamaha

We have installed a 16'' skidoo track on a mm. The sled had a eckholm tunnel. On a stock mm or viper it would not clear the rear suspension barckets because they are too wide. The skidoo track has the same pitch. The top 1/2'' of the lugs do angle in giving more clearance up front. The main problem is the rear drop brackets.
