plug life ????

i would say you are definately getting your money's worth. Most people change them every season just because. I'm sure i have more than a few thousand miles on my sets.
 
Mine are at 2800 miles. And I am burning way too much oil but they are not fouling. I change them every season.
 
Barrel wear and leakage

I have a 98 SRX and have put 2300mi. on a set of plugs. The tops of the plug started wearing a flat spot on the barrels (the soft metal that threads on the plug) looks like it may have been from vibration. Changed them and went another season. Sometimes you can get some stupid milage from plugs, but they will start leaking around the ceramic. If the plugs are not fouled look for discoloration where the ceramic passes through the metal (the part that looks like a nut.) If you see it, its time to change them. Sometimes you don't notice, but old plugs will decrease performance and make your sled run a little chubby. If your new spare plugs are starting to corrode, thats also a good sign that its time for a change.
 
yea once a season isn't too bad, right after you get the fogging oil cleaned out, throw a new set in
 
I agree, once a year, beginning of the year after you start her up and burn off the oil from fogging, after cleaning carbs 2, hehe..... I remember my older sleds can't get a winter out of a set of plugs however the newer machines can certainly do that and more...but for the price and performance, they should be changed anually, and don't forget to gap them.....
