"BEST TRACK FOR SRX-7"

My apologies to all of you who regularly frequent this site. I'm sure that this question comes up often.... I need to replace my track, the sled is a stock 00-SRX-7. The track on the sled now is the OEM .81 lug height w/ 144 woody's studs. I mostly trail ride Upstate New York, with one or two trips to Canada per season. I was hoping to find a track that hooks-up well enough without the use of studs. ( looking for a little more top-end. )
All comments positive and negative, and any feedback would be welcome. Thanks, Mike
 
like the ripsaw but does lose top end. I went down to 22/39 and am still hitting the same top end just getting there quicker. I think 21/38 would be the gearing to run with this track on snow packed
 
Ripsaw 1.25

With out a doubt I would go Ripsaw! Unbeleavable with no Pics! Best overall track I have ever riden! Ice is the only downfall, Try it you will really be impressed! I had the stocker with 144 pics and could not hook up, now I can pull the ski's even in powder! RIPSAW HAS MY VOTE!!!!!!!!

I just put a brandnew ripsaw on mine (www.tracksusa.com) and ran it up north last weekend. I had the stock track with 192 woody picks and switched to a ripsaw and it defiinetly performs as good as my studded track with the exception of ice. If you the use the ripsaw you have to take off your tunnel protectors and front heat exchanger guards.
 
if you want more top end DON'T run the ripsaw, run a 9830. They get much better traction than stock, and definately don't lose any top end. I actually think my '97 sx 700 gained a little bit of top end just from the track switch, but i also had a lot of studs in the old track. I love that 9830, awesome track, lighter, hooks up better.
 
Yep!! Camo 9830, Good Trail Performance And Seen 137 Mph On The Gun.

I have a 9818 on my sled, its the 1.25" version of the 9830 (1") and i have seen very little loss of top end speed, if any. This track gets my vote.
 
9818 if you need 1.25 or 9830 if you need a 1". Been der dun dat . Tried other tracks but these 2 work great. Also a Doo 1" hard lug take-off track is right up there.

I would expect the 9818 is much better in the powder than a ripsaw, ...generally a better multi-purpose track?
 
yes the 9818 is tons better in the powder than the ripsaw, but you probably wont notice a difference on the trails (if anything the ripsaw is a little more aggressive on the hardpack)
