Just put a 1 inch camo 9830 on my 01 srx, pre holes with 144 in the middle. What size of woody's studs would be safe and reliable and the would 8 inch carbides be enough. Also there are no protectors on rear heat exchanger, do I need these? Great track though I highly recomend it.
1 1/4 or 1 3/8 studs, 8" is the best and 6" would be the least and yes, exchanger protection is a must.

Thanks Mr. Sled, I will be ordering the parts tomorrow. We are finally getting some snow here in the snow belt of Ontario.
Your welcome ...we need some snow, can you send some our way....

What is the heat exchanger protector actually doing? Is it protecting the exchanger from the studs themselves, or things that the studs would "throw" into the exchanger?
Anyone have a pic of the protector? And do I need one for my 2001 SXr700? I see the heat exchanger in front, but then there are only some long ones under the steps(?). I don't see one in the rear.

Your SXR does not have rear heat exchangers.
Heat exchanger protectors are installed to stop the studs from damaging the heat exchanger.
