new rs vector stock darts badly 997 triple
this gentleman has a weak arm disabled to a point (he is retired)
his machine is a handful dealer is not helping out
how can i set it up to steer light yet not be darting all over also seems to be worried about roll as he turns he now uses throttle to help the *** end but sometimes it hooks and unweights the skiis and hooks one and it is feeling tippy to him
please any help with this will be appreciated im down heere machine is up there situation
this man live to go out on his machine but with this bad arm he is not enjoying himself like he should

i too have a vmax4 stock skiis
it is a bear to turn and is a handfull on the trail
i preloades the ski bumpers but found it was impossible to turn in tight trails BUT no darting infact rock steady !!!
was goona try woodys doolys but may try bergs products
prefer to keep stock skiis to keep machine original

Also tighten the front springs as far as they will go. My dad a casual trail rider (owns new vector still trying to dial it in) couldn't not turn without 6-12" of inside ski lift, we tightened them all the way down and it helped a lot.

The carbides are junk from yamaha and your better off replaceing with what bergstrom reccomends and adding those shims that come with the new carbides.

Between the front shocks tightend down minmizing the tippy aspect and the new carbides/shims should make it much more easier to ride.

PS the doolys almost elimintate darting but make it a b*tch for the guy behind you. Bergstrom is a good solution.

The Dualies may help but they have a quality problem with the mounting bolts breaking off.
First, use the Bergstrom shim under the rubber block on the ski, Yamaha's have built in angle of the skis towards the front, the shim will make the ski level.
Second, do NOT crank in the springs on the shocks, do just the opposite. If you crank in the springs it will be much more tippy. You want to raise the front off of floor, the back off the top nut of the springs to 3/16 to 1/4" of a gap betwene the top nut and the spring. This will cause a lower COG and allow the a-arms to have full travel. It will also handle the moguls much better.
Third- Bergstrom skegs (carbides) are the best, the triple's will make the sled rail in the curves. But don't get more than 6", anything longer will make steering harder.
Fourth- learn the sled, you must power down before the curve and then re-power to the comfortable level and go right through the curve. You cannot reduce power in the curve, you must do it before the turn. If you do it the turn, you can not use the power of the sled to make it turn and when you hit the power it will raise the inside ski. Power down before the turn, and then power through it.
 
I'd do what Indy says. Rode with him and his sled flat handled. Trust those who have been there done that. Maxdlx
 
Indy do you own a vector? I don't claim to know anything but after we tightend my fathers it helped a TON. That 4 stroke chassis is different then anything I have ever adjusted.

There was a RX1 rider along and he had to get the upgraded 05 springs (3 times stiffer then the 03 springs) for his sled and still had them tightened half way down to get his to handle, I rode that and it was mint. So we modeled what he did and it and it seemed to help.
