Engine torque limiter

These things a good mod? Where specifically on the viper do they go? I'm going to be digging around the sled this summer and wondered for the $20-40 if its a smart mod. Also I assume it transmits more vibration to the sled but is it too bad? Thanks
 
They are great for keeping the clutches aligned and the motor mounts and bolts from breaking if you ride hard or jump a lot. I only recommend the Yamaha part along with an SRX front engine mount. If you only trail ride and aren't looking for that extra 1/2 mph, then they are likely not worth it for you. The Viper engine is so smooth that the extra vibration is minimal.
 
yea they are a real good add-on. Keep the clutches more efficient by keeping them in line, makes your belts last longer, and more power is transferred underacceleration, and it is easier on the pto bearings and jackshaft bearings, as well as clutch bushings and buttons. Any increase in vibration will be very minimal.
 
i put the torque limiter on my viper after i broke a motor mount bolt this year, i would def. recomend it. there is no difference in vibration, the limiter has rubber bushings so that will absorb what very very little extra vibration there is. they are installed right behind the primary clutch. very easy to install
 
i don't know what the srx style one is. i got the one that says sxviper torque limiter kit in the accessories catalog, maybe its the same thing
 
you know that is a good question. The only thing i could think of is that there are slight variances in every sled, and the adjustment would allow you to get the center to center perfect for your specific application.
 
do it, well worth it and as everyone else has said, no vibration difference. I have one and didnt notice a chang ein vibrations at ALL!
