SRX cases

I'll confirm that

the stator switched in 2000 when they updated the ignition, BTV's not just trying to push stuff on you, and $75 is a good price.

Yes but you can make a 98-99 flywheel and stator work on the 00 and up cases. I just got done doing it yesterday. It would probably be easier to do it the other way around. But I would buy the stator from BTV as that is a good price.

Well I have the stator I was just going to have the cases ported on the 98 with the 780 kit and leave my 2002 motor alone. Is there much of a gain porting the cases on these machines? If not I will just put my 780 cylinders on my 2002 bottom end. Thanks

there is a couple of horsepower to be made from porting the bottom end. I dont have any experience from doing it, but Junior says it is a very time consuming process, like more than a day's worth of work. Probably not really worth it for trail riding unless you have a lot of time on your hands.

ya, it's a pain in the ***, the way I do case porting I need to port the cylinders to tho, I open up the base of the transfer ports, I THINK most other guys do case porting the same as that, but I dunno for sure how everyone does it.

in anycase, if it was a motor ported the way I do it, you won't be able to bolt unported cylinders to a ported case. or you can bolt it down, but you'll lose power 'cause the ports wont line up right, once they're ported they're stuck with each other.
