Well - today I traded in my 01 srx on an Apex RTX. I thought I would be excited, but leaving my sled at the dealer for the last time felt like putting down my dog :-( It was so hard to give it up - I hope I did the right thing. I sure hope the Apex lives up to everyones reviews. I would hate to spend 9K and then not like it as much as my SRX.

Anyway - I wanted to thank everyone on the SRX forum for all of the help they have given me over the last few years. TY.com is truely like an extended family - I don't know of any other site like it. Hopefully I can help out the newer SRX owners with my own experiences, and also get to know the guys on the 4 stroke forum.

congrats on the 06. You will love the new 4-stroke. I sold my 01 SRX about a month ago and this is the first time since fall of 97 that I dont own an SRX. I know how you feel though, I sold my 02 Mt Max (that I had countless hours of work in) on a friday night and sold my 01 SRX the next saturday. Seeing 2 of my sleds go in 24 hours kind of sucked but you cant keep'em all. Just wait to your first ride on the Apex.....your worries will be gone. ===SRXSRULE===

Rules, the thought of you without an SRX makes my blood run cold man

Vice, Yes it is a sad day when your SRX leaves the garage but atleast your left in good running order! Mine is still here, but in about 50 pieces! I am sure you will feel much better when the APEX is home with you! I am sure you won't be dissapionted! Yamaha makes an awsome product and always sets the standard! Let me know when you pic it up! Enjoy... Terry
 
I was gonna send you an email about the Apex last night Terry - but I didn't want to rub it in! I'll be sure to keep you updated.

Thanks for the reply Rules - it sounds like you know how I feel. Junior is right - it's odd for you as one of the SRX gurus on TY to to be without one. One thing is for sure though - I wont miss pulling it over when its -30 outside. You have to think that the new FI will fire right up!

I have two of them and when I decide to get a new sled I probably won't get rid of either one. I know I won't part with one as I have invested about $20,000.00 in it. I feel your pain. You should no dought be happy with the Apex.

Sorry to hear you gave up yor SRX. I just ordered a ATTACK.
With all the mods done on my SRX I could never trade it in.
 
I wish I could have them both, but there was no way if I wanted to remain married!

Dido on what Vice said above. I ordered my Apex GT this morning. I've learned so much from this site and a big thanks to everyone I've gotten advice from over the years.
Still gonna be a sad day when my SRX goes down the road on someone else's trailer. But, ya gotta do, what ya gotta do as long as it ain't a "Doo". haaa.
 
I watched my SRX AND trailer leave Friday........ sad day indeed. But I'd rather have somebody use it instead of just sitting in my garage.....

Nope..... got 4 kids, no new job yet and heck, I hardly used it at all this year.... no sense in having it. Actually I wasn't needing the money (yet!!) just rather see someone use it and not have it laying around in the garage.... I have an 01 SX-R 600 I cn use next year if I don't sell it....
 
just sold my srx thursday. hated to see it go.
now trying to decide on a GT or RTX. but i still have to talk the wife in to it.
 
I wasn't expecting to get a new sled this year but I caught the wife in a weak moment and I figured I better buy one before she changes her mind.
