Oil level light

I replaced the gas/oil tanks on my 98 SRX with the newer style with the larger capacity oil tank and have a question about the oil level indicator.The plugs are the same but I'm not sure if the sending unit in my oil tank is working with the wiring of my 98.There should'nt be any difference should there?I ran the sled for quite alot of miles and never had the oil light come on but there still seemed to be lots of oil left.Mabey I'm just used to the lack of range the old tank had.

you have to get it down far enough first to see if it will come on. This was a big shock to me as well coming from a '97 sx to an '01 sxr. Just took SO LONG for the oil light to come on. Just make sure you watch the tank until the first time u see the light come on, otherwise you know what could happen.
