Guys I have a pretty nice and clean 1980 SS 440 for sale. This is the first year version with the red hood and white stripes. Probably the hottest one for looks. It has a rotten motor in from a mouse nest so I replaced the motor with a new one from a 1984 or 85 SS440. It has new skis and runners, new windshield, the engine fan housing numbers matching to the tunnel if that matters because I switched it all so it would be correct for VIN. It has an almost brand new Comet Duster clutch too. Seat is not bad, but has a section that the cover is worn through. Two small cracks in hood near where it rest in the belly pan. Looks awesome. Problem: I have tried everything to get it to run right. Starts great, runs lean on lower end, and runs super rich midrange up like it has the wrong or no main jet. Everything has been gone through by me. Carb is rebuilt, fuel pump works great, 135 pounds of compression each cylinder, great spark, Timing lines on ignition are in spec.
