This should keep me busy this summer. Trying to get a hold of the guy so I can get it out of storage this weekend.
Also planning on doing a little sled maintenance. Got the Viper in the garage. 1. Do you guys think it is worth changing the left side jack and drive shaft bearings at 8700 miles? 2. Also will be working on the overheat issue, you guys think it is worth pulling the head to check the pistons and jugs? I am assuming I have to buy a head gasket if I do this.

Two weeks fly fishing in Montana. And many more days on the rivers of Michigan. I ALMOST enjoy fly fishing as much as riding. Play a little golf, just don't have the time to play well (perfectionist - Mom's fault). Played the mini tours down south in the late 90's.

i would say 8700 miles isn't a bad time to get in there and change those two bearings, especially the bottom one. Now on the other hand if you took it apart, cleaned it out, and repacked it every year i'm sure it is still perfect. I always pull that bearing every season and repack it because they always ingest water and grime from riding, even with the seals, so it makes them last virtually forever if you take the time to maintain it, but most people don't bother with repacking it.

stingray's are good boats
Well, it seems that on upcoming weekend is my last ride for this season. Started 22nd of November 04 and the fun lasted this far. Good enough for me. We still have snow after next weekend, but I´m too busy at work to go riding anymore.
Season had changes for me : sold my -00 MountainLite, bought my dreamsled ( MM800 Vmax4 ), longtracked -96 XT last weekend ( pics will follow... ), finally got that Vmax540 running strong.
For summer :
maintance, restoration for my sleds.
I`ll take Vmax4 apart and replace everything what is worn. Steering will be redone first. Too much loose on it. I`ll chance the ski`s to plastic ones, replace front shock covers, I`ll install a rear rack and towhitch, quadpipes would be nice, service the shocks etc...
XT will get a tunnel extension and new paint allover. Shock service too.
Vmax540 will go trough full restoration. Lot of work.
SR-V is ready. Just store it away.
Just bought a -86 Bravo 250. Planning to put a SR-V engine with twin pipes in it...
So, things to do. I wish I had a licence to ride a motorbike. Would buy a 660 XT. It looks like a nice bike. But would have to get a licence to ride it first. And after it get that licence, in Finland we have to ride for the first year with a under 25KW bikes...S U C K S !! FINLAND IS THE DREAM STATE OF RED TAPE!! Licence cost + bikes cost = too much. Add atleast 35% to your bike/sledprices, and you get a idea how much those toys cost here. AND 98 oct fuel costs almost 1,30 € litre ( 1€ = 1,25 $ ).
But when my winter is so long, I´ll try tro make most of by riding my sleds !!!
Thank you all for the help and info for this season ! Let`s enjoy the spring and the upcoming summer. and stay safe.
