Track Clipping - Which is best?

Need to replace the track on the 02 Viper. The sled is all stock with 8500 miles. What are the pro's and con's of fully clipped and every third. Looking at the 9830 and 9837 1" track, but looking for any suggestions as well. I trail ride 99% of the time out riding. I will use the existing studs in the new track in a 120 pattern down the middle.

if weight is important, you don't run extroverts, and you always ride in good snow cover, go with the every third clipped. Fully clipped is only really necessary if you run extroverts, and they are a little heavier because of the extra clips. The every third seem to take a little time to "break in" the rubber so that you can get full top speed, because the rubber is kind of sticky at first, but once its broken in top speed is just as good, maybe even better. I would go with the every third.

Is there a different part number for the 9830 fully clipped and every third?

yes, the 9830 is every third, and the 9837 is every. Otherwise the tracks are the same.

I rode and XTC with it this year and was impressed. It was not studded, but hooked up very well.

Snowdust that looks like a nice track. I have a kimpex track on my 97 SX (installed in 9 with 96 studs down the center that has over 8,000 miles on it and it's still like new money. I do like the pre-drilled holes from the manufacturer. Can one leave the outer belt holes open (center studded) and run the track safely with no future problems?

You sure can. I was impressed with this track. I am hoping someone else has used it and could compare to the 9830 that I am going to buy before next season.

i dont think it would be any better than the 9830, and the 9830 is quite a bit lighter and easier on the pocketbook.
