What would it take to get clutch back to stock?

Hey everyone, I have a Fix Powersports clutch kit on my 02 viper and I cannot get the specs as to what it is. The kit was installed when I bought it and it seems to run well but it does rev at 8900 and I want to lower that. Question is what is easier trying to guess at what to do to make mine rev lower ot going back to stock clutch set up. If going back to stock makes the most sense what parts would I need? I'm clueless on this clutch stuff so pardon my ignorance. Thanks for the help!
 
you should be able to add weight to lower the rpm?
I don't know how much or where, I would add a little to the tip and test it
do a search on adding weight?
 
If it is over revving on top end, add weight to the tips. If they it is over revving on the bottom end, at weight to the first hole. You dont need to necessarily go back to stock to eliminate the overrev. Giving it more helix angle will also pull down revs, but is really isn't the "correct" way to do it, more of a bandaid. You should always try to control rpms with the primary, and shiftout with the secondary. Hope that helps ;)!
 
Last I remember it was over revving only on the top end and shifting near 8400. Anyone want to take a guess as to what weight I should try to pull down the revs around 400? Thanks
 
Gotta know what is in there right now before anyone can make a guess. Dis-assemble clutch, right down part #,s; weigh em on a gram scale, tell us what colour the primary & secondary springs are & the helix angle...then & only then will you get an educated guess!
 
you could soften the primary spring total force, that will lower the rpms. but it would be better to add weight the arms to lower rpms. are you running stock single pipe or triples and who's? need more info on current set up, for better info back to you. but if it is a perf kit from a shop, more than likely all the weight numbers and helix numbers will be removed. then you'll need the gram scale for the weights and a protractor for the helix. ski
 
Running a single pipe, and only other mod is a Fix cold air kit. The clutch doesn't resemble anything I see people talk about on this site. There is no color of the spring that I can tell and I don't have a gram scale. That is why I was wondering if it would be easier to go back to stock?
 
My guess is if you're gonna stick with what you have now, throw a gram at the inside and 2 near the tip. Putting stock stuff back in it may not help because they usually over-rev anyway. You could do the softer primary rate, just depends on what is easier for you doesn't sound like you have alot of pieces to work with. Did you get the extra weights with it??
 
Nope nothing as far as extra peices. I have tried to deal with Fix but they aren't much help. $300 was a bill to get the sled ready for winter, I would have thought they would have dialed in the clutch. They are too expensive and the cust service is poor, so i'm on my own with this clutch.
 
you gotta figure out what you have in there for weights, rivets, springs, rollers, and helix before you can get any real accurate help on this.
 
Try an new belt. An older worn narrow belt can add 2-300 rpm easily.
