Shaved heads on a 79 srx

Any recommendations on shaving the heads on my 79 srx 440. Stock motor and exhaust, Stock porting. It will be used for 500 and 660 ft ice drags. I'm looking for how much to shave off. Don't want to get to crazy though, just a nice clean haircut. Thanks guys.
