1) I just bought this machine on Friday nite and towards the end of riding Sat night I could hear a "whirring" noise that varied with the rpm. Do you think this is likely to be the motor or the primary clutch? Any ideas what the cause is and should i start sweating bullets?
2) In reviewing the bills for a sustantial amount of work done 3 years and 1500 km ago, I noticed the bushings on both the primary and secondary were replaced. The tech at the Yamaha shop in Kamloops B.C. who greased the machine up before we went riding said he thought the bushings in the secondary seemed a little loose. In looking at it tonight I cant decide if the play is in the jackshaft bearing at the secondary or in the secondary itself or both. Doesn't 1500 km seem a little too soon to need bushings again?
3) Is this twin the same motor as the XTC 600? And as such do all the "standard" mods to the motor apply...gasket thinning, clutch weights/rivets??? If so, please let me know what works best for general riding and good reliability.
