All of Johns work is done with the dyno, it is good information, and if you do it correctly, works very well. The numbers are good he reports on gains. The reason the viper does not gain as much as the srx is simply the headwork,pipes.
i believe the viper is ported more aggressively from the factory than the srx. a piped viper will eat a stock srx

yes i meant to say its more of a weight issue. friend has a lightened up piped viper that always gets my mountain srx by a sled length or less in 500 feet but just piping a viper by a very good tuner will take a stock srx for sure

ya, but if you hook-up off the line the way that sled can you'll demolish him in 500'

That's a pretty good time Junior, what class do you run in?? Does the 136" make it alot easier for the SRX to hook up??

that was back when I was trailstock, when trailstock up here was no studs, the rules have changed since then, ya, 98 mountain SRX, 770lbs race weight, lol.
136 is a WHOLE new ballgame, I wouldn't say it makes it easier, infact I'd say it makes it harder to hook up in a full race set-up, harder to find the right set-up for the day, but once you find the set-up it WORKS. Just my experience tho, and there was a couple other things I did different in the set-up on that sled.

what? that doesnt make sense thats givin the srx a unfair advantage a viper will demolish an srx IF it hooks up also.Junior said:

if your stock viper was staying with a clutched and studded SRX in 660', either his clutching blows or you're an incredible rider.
If your viper is piped i can see where it will run with a clutched SRX.. if not than i call B.S.

yea i can't say i've seen too many stock vipers stick with clutched or even stock srxs

this was a bender clutched srx700 and i am a good rider. i wouldnt say incredible. this srx was clutched by bender exactly how they said i wasnt piped at the time. if he was to race me now i would demolish him. he wont even race anymore because he was getting beat by stock f7's. thi is not BS.

well racing is all about set-ups, and you apparently had a better one than him, but believe me when I say it doesn't usually work out that way between sleds like those, it's been tried many many times.
