just my 2 cents, but don't get the k&n's unless you wanna jet it every day you right, and then some during the day, no wiseco pistons, stick with stock, go over to snowest and pm superbeast for your sparkplug wires, come in many great colors and perform great even on 1100cc+ sleds for only $7 each, ditch the mbrp can as I believe you lose speed, instead go with some twin pipes, have mrviper do your porting as well as cutting your head to match the compression (talk to him more on that), don't even think about vforce reeds, stick with what you have, i don't know what you mean by pro x skid, but i would wait to see (since you said '06) if you can get your hands on an expert x for cheap or maybe, highly doubt, but maybe a mono shock. or an m-10 will work for cheap, about $800 for a 121", but you will lose a bit of top end but great in the ditches. thats all i got for now, peace!!!

if you get a polaris pro x skid, remove the front torque arm bolts and make sure the rails arent ovaled out. dont ask how i found this out!

i ve ran a very quick 600 twin for years, no filters, no wisecos, stay stock, even stock pipe as the aftermarkets are no better. T hat is why there is so few built, advance timing and give it some boost ports and some compresion, not to much but a little so your safe on fuel, they rip

Cut a 1/2'' out of the y-pipe. Worth 4-5hp but will raise the rpm up to around 8500.
At vmax4.com we have had a talk about modded 600 twins

I ran a 600 twin for a while. Stay away from the air filters, they are real finiky. I ran mine with thin headgasket, twin pipes, tempaflow, and clutching. It ran real good and was probably around 115-120 hp. Porting should add a bit more to that. With the pipes and clutching it certainly didn't like to go slow. I had a long travel suspension which made it a great trail sled too.

Get the compression up to 150 lbs by using the thin head gasket and then cutting the head and tops of the cylinders also(make sure you run premium at all times). After that cut the y-pipe a 1/2'' and you'll be over 110hp and it's reliable! Been there, done it, and it'll beat alot of today's 600 twins!

yes but...
SRXSPEC,
Can you remember how much off the head and cylinder top?

I know it was .010'' off the cylinder tops. I'll have to measure this weekend how much it is off the head, I have some old parts laying around somewhere yet.
once they are setup, youl piss off alot of 700 sx owners, i bought my 98 600 xtc because it was cheaper than the 700,0 i beat all my buddys 77 yamy no problem
Question on this y-pipe cut. Is this as simple as cutting it in two, remove 1/2", and weld back together? Am I missing something?

Illustration of where to remove the material from.
That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the drawing. Now I get to start cutting.
Hey guys thanx for all the input pulled my top end off last week. Starting to sand some othe stuff down so I can polish it e.g. recoil cover bottom end. What about running tempa flow with K&N's? Guys since I'm going to have to be a 600 CDI anyway does anyone make a racing one? or is the stock one good since it does the advanced timing with the tps. E-mailed Superbeast bout those wires. Ya the MBRP I lost a lil bit of top end (grained it back in the the clutching but gained a little bit of torque. Why is it that they do this not enough back pressure? If I ran twin pipes what would I order them for like a SRX chasis? Thanks guys

how does cutting a 1/2" out of the y-pipe improve power?
